Dear Recruiter,

We’ve been mates for a long time. We’ve closed some big opportunities together, and I’ll always remember the one that got away.
Some days, you’re the only one who rings my phone: that makes you my bestie. And you remember to catch up after a year or so: I appreciate that.

We Built This City

You built the IT industry. You were always onsite before me. There are skyscrapers that would be empty if it weren’t for your dedication. You were the first call that the founders made; you were Richard Branson’s phonebox.

You’re a Creative Genius

Where you see a global company at the bleeding edge of innovation, others might see an empty office and 3 job descriptions. But here we are, and the global companies had to start somewhere.
No AI could do what you do. You’re creative and you’re persuasive. Perhaps you cut a couple of corners (I saw nothing), but you earned your wins with hard graft and more talk time than LBC.

We’ve Both Been Working Too Hard

Sometimes, I work long hours. When I do, I’ll always remember who’s there with me. I see the green lights, the late emails, the extra half mile.
What’s it all for? A lot of our effort is to deliver process efficiencies for others - so they don’t need to work late, for example.
There’s one CRM joke that’s beyond a joke: the best CRMs have been delivered by teams in desperate need of their own. We know the benefits of CRM, but they’re not all ours to enjoy.
Anyway, we love Enterprise software. We’ve always had that in common. The dashboards might not be our dashboards but they’re built with our expertise for which we’re paid well.
We get the satisfaction of a job done well, and a happy customer.

A Threat and an Opportunity

I did hear you’re having a spot of bother. You and me both mate.
This AI situation is no joke. I’ve been looking into it. Humans need to raise our game.
What’s surprised me though, is the opportunities. We can win this one, maybe with a better score even. The power of AI is available to everyone, including you and me.

Think Quick!

You can think quick. Large organisations can’t. I’ll leave that there.

See You Later

I want our customers to enjoy the benefits of AI, and for both of us to be part of their journey.
I don’t know the answers. I’ve got some leads. Always happy to share.

Sincerely,

IT Professional.
